From the MSCFF:

Brothers and Sisters of the MSCFF,

The Executive Board would like to invite you to join us nextTuesday, March 26th, at the Missouri State Capitolin Jefferson City for our annual Fire Fighters Day at the Capitol. Each year we meet with Missouri's elected officials to advocate for professional fire fighters and EMS workers. This year's theme is "Women in Fire". Our sisters are strongly encouraged to attend and help make our voices heard.

This year we will be advocating forHouse Bill 1769, the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act. This bill would create due process protections for fire fighters statewide, outlining a process for how employers can conduct disciplinary investigations of fire fighters, protecting our rights to privacy in our specialized workplaces, and ensuring that we can run for and hold elected office and not have our right to participate in the political process unfairly restricted. The full text of the bill is here: 4178H.01I.pdf (mo.gov)

Your Local Presidents will have talking points and information about the bill to share with you, as well as a tip sheet of best practices for talking with your legislators about the issues that are important to us.

We will look forward to seeing many of you there.

Fraternally,

Stephen Davis

Secretary-Treasurer, Missouri Council of fire Fighters
