The Greater St. Louis area Firefighters Highland Guard is currently looking for those interested in joining the band. The Greater St. Louis Firefighters Highland guard is a Pipes and Drums band that is composed of fellow firefighters, EMS, and support staff. The band plays in support of fallen firefighters and fallen police officers (in conjunction with St. Louis County PD pipe band) as well as numerous events by request throughout the area.

The band is comprised of multiple instruments including, Bag pipes, Snare drums, Tenor Drum and Bass drum. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED, however a basic understanding of reading music is helpful.

There are some time requirements, however there are no mandatory dates. We are all on the job and understand scheduling conflicts. With that being said, there is a lot of self-study while learning these instruments and their will be an extended learning period. We will hold practices on a weekly and

If you’re interested in joining the band, we will be hosting an introductory meeting will be hosted at the PFEM Local 2665 meeting room on November 27th, 2018 at 1800hrs. This meeting should last no longer than 2 hours.
